Power Hour
One shot of beer every minute, for sixty minutes. A test of endurance set to your favorite playlist.
Category: drinking · Players: 2-20 · Duration: 60 min · Difficulty: hard
Rules
- Set a timer or playlist that signals every minute.
- Everyone takes one small shot of beer (about 30 ml) each minute.
- Missing a minute earns a penalty chosen by the group.
- Survive all 60 minutes to win.
Set up before the first turn
Bring Shot glasses, Beer, Timer or playlist. Gather 2-20 and place everything where all players can reach it before the first round.
Example first round
For a sample opening, the host reads the first instruction: “Set a timer or playlist that signals every minute.” Once that is complete, continue with: “Everyone takes one small shot of beer (about 30 ml) each minute.” Treat this first pass as practice if anyone is unsure.
Host it well
- Decide on alcohol-free forfeits and a no-questions-asked pass rule before the first turn. Nobody should be pressured to drink.
- Explain one phase at a time and pause for questions; accuracy matters more than starting quickly.
- Plan for about 60 min, but finish at the end of a good round if the group's attention starts to drop.
You'll need
- Shot glasses
- Beer
- Timer or playlist
Keep it sober
Use water or juice and add a mini stretch or exercise each minute — a hydration hour.
Inclusive play
Use water or juice and add a mini stretch or exercise each minute — a hydration hour. Passing is always allowed, and a non-alcoholic choice should carry exactly the same status in the game.
